The Centre was established to broaden the idea of horses as teachers and seeing horses as equal. In achieving our objectives often sight is lost  of the horse as being an equal and essential part of our objective equation.

A large range of activities take place here involving horses. Activities for both horse people and non horse people with an emphasis on learning; learning about horses and learning about yourself.
North River Horse and Humanship Centre run a range of workshops and individual learning opportunities with a team of experienced and qualified people and horses to facilitate this learning.

North River Horse and Humanship Centre is set on over 60 Hectares of land northwest of Waipu township.  A rural setting, surrounded by native bush and the beautiful North River meandering through it.
Facilities include an arena, round pen and many kilometres of trails around the property and valley.

As part of the further development of North River Horse & Humanship Centre we are developing the community of involved people with North River Retreats.
