The North River Horse & Humanship Centre leads the way in leadership training and team building using horses.
Horses are always looking for a good leader and that is no different than we are with a horse. We become part of the herd. Leadership to a horse is very important as it means survival!

What kinds of leadership qualities help you to become better leader, not just a leader but a integrated leader?
How well or where we are on the road to perfecting the qualities of leadership leads us to another level of leadership. The level of integrated leadership, where the relationship between the leader and the led is one of togetherness; travelling on the same journey together each with our different roles to play. It is not about power and control. It is about equality, trust and respect.
Integrated Leadership means balancing the task with the relationship.
Integrated Leadership means where the leader and the led come together with equal status and in constant communication with one another, everyone being committed to their role and holding their responsibilities based on their individual strengths whilst moving forward towards the same vision .
Whether you are a business leader, teacher, tutor or just want to lead your life, horses can and do reflect how you currently lead and show you a pathway to further enhance your current leadership skills and style.
Run as a one on one or group programme.
The Integrated Leadership programme includes:
Equine Assisted Learning - Individual or group sessions co-facilitated with a leadership coach and horse professional. These are non-skill focused sessions, carrying out tasks and playing games with the horses giving the participants the opportunity to explore their leadership, communication and dynamics within the group.
Humanship Horsemanship Training - Individual or Group sessions focused on learning the qualities and skills of control and communication with a horse based on a foundation of trust and respect.
Mentoring and Follow Up - Individual and group mentoring, facilitation and reflection, are an on going process throughout the programme carried out by the professional staff involved with the individual parts of the programme. After the sessions we offer a follow up process to assist you in sucessfully intergrating the learned skills into your work environment or daily life.
In its basic form this programme can be run as a stand alone one day package or can be used as an on going programme.
