Share-a-Horse

Do you want to have access to a horse on a regular basis but just don't have the time, the facilities or the skills necessary for this?

The North River Horse and Humanship Centre Share-a-Horse program is for people that would like to have a deeper involvement with horses without the commitment of owning their own horse or the resources to keep one. Lets face it, if you want to learn more about horses, one riding lesson a week will take you several life times to get the required experience. Having access to a horse at your leisure will go a long way to deepening your knowledge, ability and experience.

Benefits:

Greater access to horses.

More economic than horse ownership. No vet bills, feed bills, worming or hoof care expenses.

More flexibility: change between horses, pick the days you want to be with your horse.

Experienced, knowledgeable supervision on site for advice and help.

All horses equipment supplied: saddle, blanket, halter, grooming gear.

Access to property and facilities: arena, round pen and trails.

How it works:

We have ten horses and ponies within the herd that we offer on the Share-a-Horse program.

The horse is one of the North River herd and stays at North River and is taken care of as part of the herd.

On offer is, for a set monthly fee, two 2-day shares in the horse or pony. Each share has 1-day in the weekend included.

The horses is essentially yours to do with as you want on the property (within the bounds of the horsemanship practiced on the property). To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of both the rider and the horse, horsemanship lessons are required until the horsemanship standard is reached.

Cost:

2 day per week share = $100 per month

Payable monthly in advance. Price does not include horsemanship/riding lessons.
